Can I take a break during Ramadhan?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I am living in UK with my family (wife and 6 months old baby) and Alhamdulillah we are observing fasts during the holy month of Ramadan. My query is that my wife after first 6-7 days of fasts is feeling very tired and she feels further fasts will weaken her even more. As the fasts here start from 03:00 am and end around 09:30 pm (18.5 hours) it is becoming very difficult for her to fast and take care of the baby. There is no one else to support her at home. For these reasons she avoided few fasts (3-4 days) and then started again. Please advise if this is permissible to do as per Shariah? Also advise what needs to be done to fulfill missed fasts?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(Fatwa: 1122/868/D=10/1434)

If a Muslim doctor suggests that the fast shall be harmful for the woman then in such case she is allowed to miss the fast. And later when the days are shorter she should make its qadha. Only qadha is enough.
