Is it correct to pray witr in Isha with 2 rakahs followed by 1 rakah with takbir-e-tahrima?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I am Hanafi and I am following tabligh jamah too. My question is, witr prayer in Isha, we have to pray like 3 rakahs continuously (2 rakahs and 1 with one takbir) like every Hanafi pray in Isha (at India and Pak). Or we have to pray 2 rakahs and finish with salam and go for next 1 rakah with takbir-e-tahrima, because I heard with one Alim he said the holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to pray this second method regularly (maximum time in his life. If praying witr in second method is correct or wrong. Please give me proper guidance.

As per the Hanafi Fiqh, it is proved from sunnah to offer three rakahs in witr salah with one takbir tahrima and one salam. This is followed and preferred by the Hanafi scholars, whereas the other method is also proved from sunnah and it cannot be termed wrong, but that method is not preferable as per the Hanafi scholars. Hence you should offer witr salah according to preferred method of Hanafis which is proved by sunnah, as the follower of Hanafi Fiqh from India and Pakistan offer witr. Do not have any doubt and hesitation.
