Do we apply saffron to a boy’s head on the 7th day after birth and can we put it on a girl’s head?

(1) After removing hair from the baby boy’s head on 7th day after birth should we apply saffron on his head? And what is the reason to apply it?
(2) Is it allowed to put saffron on baby girl’s head?

(Fatwa: 645/505/H=1434)

It is mustahab to apply saffron on the seventh day of the birth after shaving the head, whether it is a boy or a girl, the head should be shaved on the seventh day of birth and the saffron should be applied over it. If you apply any other aromatic oil then it is also correct.
