Does a woman in Ihraam leave her feet exposed too? How does she have to dress?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulfiqh.com

Question:

Does a woman in Ihraam leave her feet exposed too? How does she have to dress?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

There are no special requirements for a woman’s Ihrām.  She may wear any type of clothing.  It is advisable to wear a simple and plain abāyā which covers her body properly.

A woman’s ihrām is in leaving her face uncovered.  A woman must not let any cloth touch her face.  This does not mean she should reveal her looks to strangers.  There are caps available which have a veil attached to it away from the face.  Such caps should be worn whilst in the state of Ihrām.

In addition, it is permissible for a woman to wear gloves and socks.

A woman does not have to leave her instep exposed like a male.  She may wear any footwear whilst in the state of Ihrām.[1]
