Q: Is it Haraam to read the book of poetry called Fal-e-Hafiz? It is by a Persian poet called Hafiz.
A: Hafiz Shirazi was a pious person and wrote in poetic form. His poetry is good on condition that it can be understood correctly. It will be okay to read his poetry, with the correct understanding. The love he writes about is Divine love whereas the Western writers have erroneously interpreted to be carnal.
