Q: My cousin divorced his wife and she said she is in Iddah period but this is their final divorce. This will make the third time and her tubes are tied so can she really be in Iddah period?
A: Iddah is compulsory so she has to be in Iddah, irrespective of whether the tubes are tied or not. One of the reasons of Iddah is to establish the state of the womb and it is not the only reason. the main thing is that it is a command from Allah.
