Wrongs Words in a Song

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askmufti.co.za

Q: In the past I used to listen to a lot of Haraam singing, now I have stopped. Yesterday as a joke I said a name of one of the songs I used to listen to, but after that I had an idea that this song might have kufr words (words of disbelief), so I checked its lyrics to make sure and I stopped at a word “haters you could kill yourselves”. I felt like it could be against us (Muslims) or something like this, even though that wasn’t clear, and the other parts of the song have nothing to do with this. Are these words Kufr or not, because I feel like I agreed the person who wrote this bad thing.

A: It will not be Kufr by you. Nevertheless make Istighfaar and don’t use those words in future. Allah Ta’aala make it easy for you, Aameen.
