Missed Salaah and Current Salaah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askmufti.co.za

Q: If one almost misses salah but he prays the current salah just in time but he has two prayers to make up must he make up the prayer he already missed? Or can he pray the two he missed?

A: If a person has Qadhaa (missed) Salaahs on him which are five or less then he first has to perform these missed Salaahs in sequence and thereafter an Adaa Salaah (Salaah on time). Yes, if the time is about to expire of the Adaa Salaah and by reading the missed Salaah this Adaa Salaah will also become Qadhaa, then he will perform the Adaa Salaah and thereafter the Qadhaa.
