Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askmufti.co.za

Q: Is network marketing on the internet permissible? There are these products on the internet such as google adsense that pay users of it a certain amount of money for clicking on the link.

A. Making money from network marketing is lawful and Halaal. The company pays one for the use of his or her network through which it markets its products. When a subscriber to the network clicks on the advert, the network operator gets paid a fixed sum of money. This is permissible because one is being paid for the effort of uploading and maybe even composing the advert on one’s website.

Please note that marketing of only Halaal products will be permissible. Marketing of products like alcohol, casinos, etc. will not be permissible.

And Allah Ta’aala knows best.
