Q: Is it compulsory for women to pray taraweeh in Ramadhan? Is it a sin if she doesnt pray taraweeh?
A: Taraweeh salaah is sunnat, not compulsory. However, it is sunnat muakkada, that is, a strong sunnat. Therefore, to leave it out for no valid reason is also a sin. A woman should not leave out the taraweeh salaah unless she is sick or very weak.
