Doubt about Cleanliness

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askmufti.co.za

Q: What should I do when I have a doubt in my mind that my clothes are napak (ritually unclean) but I don’t know in reality?

A. The clothes were originally Paak. Ignore the doubt and consider the clothes to be Paak (ritually clean). Shari’ah says that certainty cannot be removed by doubt. You were first certain the clothes were Paak, now the doubt that cropped up will not remove that certainty.
