Remarrying in Court

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askmufti.co.za
Q: My wife and I got married according to shariah. Is it neccessary to remarry in court?

A: An Islamic marriage renders the couple husband and wife in the Eyes of Allah Ta’aala. This is most important and has been done. Over and above this, if there is a need for a court marriage for certain legal or business reasons, etc. then one may ‘remarry’ in court. Otherwise there is no need at all to get married in court.
