Marriage after Adultery

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askmufti.co.za

Q: I had pre-marital sex with a boy. We are now trying to part because we have realized our relationship will not work out. I was wondering if I am still able to marry someone else since I am no longer a virgin, and do I have to tell him everything from my life like this stuff?

A: Part from him immediately, repent and lead a righteous life. Eventually you will get inner peace. You may marry someone else and there is no need to tell him about the past. Do not give up on the mercy of Allah Ta’aala. Sincere repentance and turning towards Him is never in vain. Do not despair. May Allah Ta’aala protect you, Aameen.
