English Translation of The Qur’an

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

I am living in Non-English Speaking country and I converted last year.
Since people do not read in English here, I do not know which Qur´an
translated in English I should read.

I got a hard copy by M.A.S. Abdel Haleem. Should I read this or would
you kindly recommend the best one, please.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

We congratulate you on becoming a Muslim. We pray that Allah keep you steadfast in Islam. Ameen.

We are not familiar with the works of M.A.S Abdel Haleem and therefore cannot comment on it. We would recommend “The Meaning of The Noble Qur’an” by Mufti Taqi Usmani (Damat Barakatuhum). This translation is widely available for purchase online.

We would advise you to learn how to read Arabic in order for you to be able to read the actual Arabic text of the Qur’an. This will give you the opportunity to read the actual words of Allah and you will experience a sense of spirituality and closeness to Allah.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
