I’ve few questions, please, explain me these questions if it’s possible.
1)I’ve worked in university. I have not worked 4 days, for various reasons (it was my fault).2)Also, (when I was working in another company) my director gave me computer, paper and printer for working. But sometimes i’ve used it for my needs.Also, if some student asked me to print something for him – i’ve printed it. Also, because of my carelessness, i’ve injured chair.
Should I to compensate financially (that i’ve listed above) to my director and how?Now I don’t work in these companies.Barakallahu feekum
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
You have referred to three issues.
1) Not working for 4 days
2) Using work computer, paper and printer for out of work purposes.
3) Damaging a chair.
Your concern and consciousness on all three issues reflect your sensitivity of Halaal and looking after entrusted items. Both these qualities are praiseworthy and in fact part of the core teachings of Islam.
Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam reported to have mention:
مشكاة المصابيح (2/ 847)
طَلَبُ كَسْبِ الْحَلَالِ فَرِيضَةٌ بَعْدَ الْفَرِيضَةِ
“Seeking Halaal earning is mandatory after all other obligations”
شعب الإيمان (6/ 197)
لَا إِيمَانَ لِمَنْ لَا أَمَانَةَ لَهُ
“There is no Iman for one who is not trustworthy to others”
We advise you to calculate your income of the four days you missed work, the value of the use of the office equipment and the damaged chair and make a general contribution to the university[1]. You may state the reason for the contribution and explain your motivation for compensating the university. Your attitude will reflect positively on Islam and your values as a Muslim.

وفي القنية من باب الإمامة إمام يترك الإمامة لزيارة أقربائه في الرساتيق أسبوعا أو نحوه أو لمصيبة أو لاستراحة لا بأس به ومثله عفو في العادة والشرع اهـ وهذا مبني على القول بأن خروجه أقل من خمسة عشر يوما بلا عذر شرعي، لا يسقط معلومه، وقد ذكر في الأشباه في قاعدة العادة محكمة عبارة القنية هذه وحملها على أنه يسامح أسبوعا في كل شهر، واعترضه بعض محشيه بأن قوله في كل شهر، ليس في عبارة القنية ما يدل عليه قلت: والأظهر ما في آخر شرح منية المصلي للحلبي أن الظاهر أن المراد في كل سنة. ذكر الخصاف أنه لو أصاب القيم خرس أو عمى أو جنون أو فالج أو نحوه من الآفات، فإن أمكنه الكلام والأمر والنهي والأخذ والإعطاء فله أخذ الأجر، وإلا فلا قال الطرسوسي: ومقتضاه أن المدرس ونحوه إذا أصابه عذر من مرض أو حج بحيث لا يمكنه المباشرة لا يستحق المعلوم لأنه أراد الحكم في المعلوم على نفس المباشرة فإن وجدت استحق المعلوم وإلا فلا وهذا هو الفقه اهـ ملخصا.
قلت: ولا ينافي هذا ما مر من المسامحة بأسبوع ونحوه لأن القليل مغتفر كما سومح بالبطالة المعتادة على ما مر بيانه في محله
