I was 18 years old. Now the question is should I make qadha? I didnt know how to pray before. Please help!!!

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykumwa-rahmatullāhiwa-barakātuh.

It is a pleasure to know that Allah granted you hidayat (guidance) to change your life and be a seriously practising Muslim. It is our dua that Allah ta’ala keep you steadfast Aameen.

We advise you to stay in the company of the Ulama and pious people who adhere to the sunnah.

In principle, when a person becomes baaligh (physically matured) he is obliged to fulfil the laws of Shariah Salah etc. The Salats you missed from the time you became baaligh till when you started performing your Salats will have to be made up(qazaa). One easy method is to perform one qaza Salah with each present Salah. In a period of time, you will complete your Qaza.

You should make an estimate of your missed Salats and plan accordingly.

Qaza is made only of fard and witr Salats.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
