Please can you clarify the ffg with regard to relations between spouses:
1. Is it makrooh to engage on the 1st, middle and last of the lunar month
2. Is the middle of the month the 14th or 15th night
3. Is it makrooh on the last 3 nights of the lunar month
4. Does Thursday night, Sunnah, take preference over a makrooh day. Eg. If thursday night falls under the 1st of the month
5. is there such a thing as recommended days?

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is permissible for spouses to engage in conjugal relationships at any time of the month including the beginning, middle and the end of the month with the obvious condition that the wife is not in her menses. Imam Ghazali (Rahimahullah) has stated that it is makrooh (disliked) to engage in conjugal relationships in the beginning, middle and end of the month and his view is based on the advises of some Sahabah. [1] While it is permissible for spouses to engage in conjugal relationship in the above mentioned days, one may also follow the advice of Imam Ghazali (Rahimahullah) if one wishes.
As for recommended days, Imaam Ghazali (Rahimahullah) mentions that Friday (which according to the Islamic calendar starts from Thursday maghrib) is preferred. [2]
