In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Shari’ah has emphasized on maintaining family ties. Your sister wishes for you to keep regular contact. That is because of her love for you. You should consider her feelings and request.

If your brother in-law and husband do ghibat, that should not lead you distancing yourself from your sister. You should also consider expressing your feeling of dismay to your husband about his conduct and request him with kindness to avoid making ghibat if he is doing so.

Also remember Shaitaan whispers bad thoughts in a person and makes one believe negative things of others without any reasons.
