Question regarding cutting the hair unevenly and eating from a grill in which machine slaughtered chicken was cooked.

I have two questions :

1) Can i have a haircut of two lengths?  For example number 2 on the sides and back and cut on top?

2) Can we eat of the same grill that machine cut chicken is cooked?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

1)     In principle, there two factors that render a haircut impermissible:

a)     Qaza’: this is when the head has been partially shaved. [1]

b)    Imitating transgressors and disbelievers: this is when a particular haircut is specifically associated with any un-Islamic group. [2]

You enquire about a hairstyle that has two lengths, the first length being a number two on the sides and back and the second length being a scissor cut on the top. While there is no qaza’ involved in this, the procedure is very similar to haircuts in vogue and style. We therefore advice against such a haircut.

2)     You may eat food made with the grill in reference if it has been thoroughly cleaning with water after the machine slaughtered chicken was cooked on it.[3]  

However, when going to a restaurant which cooks machine slaughtered chicken, one should avoid eating food which is cooked using the same equipment due the strong possibility of contamination.

وَيُكْرَهُ الْقَزَعُ وَهُوَ أَنْ يَحْلِقَ الْبَعْضَ وَيَتْرُكَ الْبَعْضَ

[3]  (وتطهير) محل (النجاسة التي يجب غسلها على وجهين) ، لأن النجاسة إما أن تكون لها عين مرئية أو لا (فما كان له منها عين مرئية) كالدم (فطهارتها) أي النجاسة، والمراد محلها (زوال عينها) ولو بمرة على الصحيح، وعن الفقيه أبي جعفر أنه يغسل مرتين بعد زوال العين، إلحاقاً لها بغير مرئية غسلت مرة

(و) يطهر (السيف) عن نجس كالعذرة و البول و الدم رطب أو يابس (و نحوه) مما لم يكن خشنا كالسكين و المرآت و الزجاج و الجرة الخضراء و الخشب الحراطي (بالمسح) بالتراب أو الخرقة الطاهرة كما يطهر بالغسل

( وَمِنْهَا الْمَسْحُ ) إذَا وَقَعَ عَلَى الْحَدِيدِ الصَّقِيلِ الْغَيْرِ الْخَشِنِ كَالسَّيْفِ وَالسِّكِّينِ وَالْمِرْآةِ وَنَحْوِهَا نَجَاسَةٌ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يُمَوَّهَ بِهَا فَكَمَا يَطْهُرُ بِالْغُسْلِ يَطْهُرُ بِالْمَسْحِ بِخِرْقَةٍ طَاهِرَةٍ .هَكَذَا فِي الْمُحِيطِ وَلَا فَرْقَ بَيْنَ الرَّطْبِ وَالْيَابِسِ وَلَا بَيْنَ مَا لَهُ جِرْمٌ وَمَا لَا جِرْمَ لَهُ .
