I study at college where the lunch time is 12:20 – 1:00
The problem is the jamaat in nearby mosque is at 1:00
So 1- can I pray alone in masjid will I be sinful for neglecting jamaat
As leaving jamaat was not even excused for blind sahabi.
2-can I make jamaat with my friends before the first jamaat of masjid
What does lowering gaze means: I study at college where there are teacher when I talk to them shall I look at my feet or I can look at there face
Some people look at women in tv and say they have no bad intentions what about that?

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
1. Brother in Islam,
Your zeal to perform Salah timeously with Jamaah in the Masjid is a sign of your Imaan and is praise worthy. May Allah Taala grant you steadfastness on Deen. Ameen.
It is mentioned in a hadith:
عن ابن عمر، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: صلاة الرجل في الجماعة تزيد على صلاته وحده سبعا وعشرين
Ibn ‘Umar reported Allah’s Rasul (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) saying: The prayer of a person in congregation is twenty-seven times in excess to the prayer said alone.)Muslim-650)
In principle, it is obligatory for one to perform Salah with Jamaah [1] and if one doesn’t do so without a valid Sharee excuse one will be sinful. [2]However, in your case the problem you have mentioned is not a Sharee excuse, hence you may take the following steps to solve your problem and so that you can perform your Salah with Jamaah:
- Speak to the Imam or committee to consider your case and if they could adjust the timings in such a manner that it could accommodate the college students as well.
- If the Masjid committee cannot change the timings to suite your needs then, you should perform your Salah with the other college students with Jamaah in the sahan (courtyard/second section of the Masjid).[3]
- It would also be ideal from you to perform Jammah within the collage vicinity as this would create an environment of Salah in the college and encourage other students to perform Salah as well.
- If the above is not possible or the college does not permit you to perform Salah within the college vicinity then, you may perform Salah in the Masjid. However, if Masjid in reference does not have a sahan (courtyard/second section) then, you may perform Jammah in the Masjid without giving adhan.[4]
2. Allah Taala mentions in the Quraan:
قُلْ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَغُضُّوا مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِمْ وَيَحْفَظُوا فُرُوجَهُمْ ذَلِكَ أَزْكَى لَهُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ
Tell the believing men that they must lower their gaze and guard their private parts it is more decent for them. Surely Allah is all aware of what they do. (Surah Al-Noor-30)
In principle, it is necessary for one to lower his gaze immediately upon looking at a non-mahram woman. Therefore, the same ruling will apply to your female teachers as they are your non-mahrams. In a situation in which you cannot avoid them even after trying then, limit your interaction with them as much as possible. [5] You should also consider studying in a boy’s only college.

[3] ويكره تكرار الجماعة بأذان وإقامة في مسجد محلة لا في مسجد طريق أو مسجد لا إمام له ولا مؤذن (الدر المختار ج1 ص552 سعيد)

أما مسجد الشارع فالناس فيه سواء لا اختصاص له بفريق دون فريق اهـ ومثله في البدائع وغيرها، ومقتضى هذا الاستدلال كراهة التكرار في مسجد المحلة ولو بدون أذان(الدر المختار ج1 ص553 سعيد)
[5]فحل النظر مقيد بعدم الشهوة وإلا فحرام وهذا في زمانهم، وأما في زماننا فمنع من الشابة قهستاني وغيره (إلا) النظر لا المس (لحاجة) كقاض وشاهد يحكم (ويشهد عليها)قال ابن عابدين: (قوله مقيد بعدم الشهوة) قال في التتارخانية، وفي شرح الكرخي النظر إلى وجه الأجنبية الحرة ليس بحرام، ولكنه يكره لغير حاجة اهـ وظاهره الكراهة ولو بلا شهوة (قوله وإلا فحرام) أي إن كان عن شهوة حرم (قوله وأما في زماننا فمنع من الشابة) لا لأنه عورة بل لخوف الفتنة كما قدمه في شروط الصلاة (الرد المجتار ج6 ص370 سعيد)
