Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Sister in Islam,

We are unaware of any controversy regarding the mere permissibility of a Sayyidah marrying a non-Sayyid given that all the conditions of Nikah are fulfilled (witnesses, permission of the wali, etc.).[1] The purport of Surah Al-Nisā’ verse 3 is general:

فَانْكِحُوا مَا طَابَ لَكُمْ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ

Marry whichever women you like…

However, a Sayyidah is not in the same kufu’ (social standing) as a non-Sayyid. As such, if the walī of the Sayyidah does not approve of the nikāh with a non-Sayyed, the nikāh will be invalid.[2]
