Position of the index finger after Tashahhud.

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

I want o ask that which way one should drop one’s  index finger during tashahhud  at the time of Shahaadah.

Either the index finger has to be dropped to thigs completely or just  above thighs  holding it in air.

Are following refrences are correct about it ?

1.Imdaad ul fatawa , vol 1 , kitab u salat , question 198

2.Bishti ziwar , part 2

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The finger should not be completely lowered to rest on the thigh. It should be lowered slightly such that it remains suspended above the thigh.[1]

The references you have provided are correct.
