Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullahi wa-barakatuh.

It is the responsibility of a believer to ensure that his wealth his earned and received through Halaal and permissible avenues.

In any event, if a doubt arises regarding its permissibility, such wealth should be disposed of by giving the amount in Sadaqah to the poor and needy even if they are Muslims without the intention of reward.[1]

In order for us to issue a specific ruling regarding the wealth in reference, please clarify your query:

  1. What type of wealth are you referring to?
  2. What do mean by doubtful wealth? Was it contaminated with interest? Was it tax money?
  3. What makes you think such wealth was doubtful?

And Allah Ta’ala Knows Best
