1) Am I allowed to sell jewellery to women (I am a man) who do not wear hijab? Can I talk with them about products they want to buy on the phone or via a social network like facebook?
2) British and US embassies launched a project at our university called “Young Leaders Development Project”. Can I take part in it given that at their gatherings women and men are mixed and women’s clothing does not fulfil Sharia requirements? My goal is to deeper understand the politics of the West in our region and therefore inform muslims to be aware of what awaits people here.
3) Should I leave Uzbekistan if there is a risk that when I have a beard I will be asked to get rid of it by the university stuff? The government here conducts policy of opressing Muslims who wear beards and Muslimas who wear hijab. Should still stay in Uzbekistan and try to do hidden Daavat? There is a law here which bans davaat and those who break the law are sent to prison.
4) My major is Politics and International Relations. I think that the knowledge that I can gain would help me understand the politics in Uzbekistan and the whole world and be useful to Ummah. Is just this a plausible excuse to stay here even if I’ll have to cut my beard and not do davaat?

- It is permissible for you to sell jewellery to women who do not wear Hijāb. However, lower your gaze in their presence and avoid looking at. You may communicate with women for business purposes. However, your communication should be restricted to your business needs.[1]
- You should avoid attending mixed gatherings of men and women.[2]
