I would like to know what the Imam says in arabic to people when he is about to begin the Salah.
How is the phrase said in arabic (Istawooo…Aqeemoo) and is it compulsory to say it before you begin the congregational Salah?

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
There is a lot of emphasis placed on the straightening of the rows.[i] Those praying behind the Imam should be diligent in keeping the rows aligned throughout the Salah.
The term استووا means to “straighten and align [the rows].” The term أقيموا الصفوف means to “establish the rows” and to balance and make them equivalent.[ii]
Straightening the rows is achieved by aligning the heels and the ankles. [iii] [iv]
Closing the gaps is done by joining shoulder with shoulder.[v]
It is mustahabb (desirable) for the Imam to remind the congregation to straighten the rows as Rasulullah (salallahu alayhi wa sallam) used to do so. [vi]
