In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

In principle, it is not permissible for you to cut the hair along the jawbone unless it exceeds a fistful. Any hair that grows on the cheeks or throat may be removed, although it is better not to do so. You cannot groom your beard by trimming it to make it even.
