Dear Mufti Saheb, The commitee responsible for the madresah put the parents name on the masjid notice board beacuse the did not pay the fees.can you tell me if this is right or wrong?
Respected Brother-in-Islam
Assalaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullaahi Wa Barakaatuhu
During the Hijjatul Widaa (Farewell pilgrimage) of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) on the tenth day of Dhul-Hijjah in Makkah Mukarramah, he gave many advises. He emphasised on the respect of the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah and the sanctity of Makkah Mukarramah. Thereafter, he said, ?Verily your blood, your wealth and your respect is honoured like the honour of this day, month and place.? (Bukhari)
The above Hadith emphasises the importance of the respect of a believer. It is not permissible to disgrace and humiliate a Muslim. The humiliating act of placing a parent’s name on the Musjid noticeboard due to them not paying fees is strictly prohibited. The committee should refer their difficulties and queries to Ulama and seek their advise. By not doing so, they may make similar grievous errors.
The committee members are obliged to render an apology to the parents in person and by placing the apology on the noticeboard.
and Allah Ta’ala Knows Best
