I have seen a few mosques where there is this duood written that if you read it after Asr salat on Friday your 80 years sins would be forgiven and 80 years good deeds would be written in your account. Could you please kindly provide the exact reference of the Hadith and tell whether the hadith is Sahih. The durrod is as under:
Allahuma Sale A”la Muhammad Al Nabiyal Ummiyee wa A’la alahi wa Salim Taslima
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
1. This Hadith is recorded by Allamah Sakhaawi in his famous work “Al-Qawl al-Badee’”. Ibn Bashkuwal has recorded this Hadith as well. (Al-Qawl al-Badee’, pg 381, Al Muassah al-Rayyan)
Though this Hadith is acceptable, many Muhaditheen (scholars of Hadith) prefer practicing on the Hadith of Hazrat Anas and Abu Hurairah (Radiyallaahu anhuma). Ibn Nu’man has considerd it as “Hasan”.The Hadith is as follows:
من صلى على يوم الجمعة ثمانين مرة غفر الله له ذنوب ثمانين سنة قيل يا رسول الله كيف الصلاة عليك قال: تقول: (( اللهم صل على محمد عبدك ونبيك ورسولك ، النبى الأمى))…………
“Rasulullah (Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: Whoever sends salutations (salaat) to me eighty times on Friday, Allah will forgive eighty years of his sins. It was asked; O Rasulullah (Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam): How should the salaat be? He replied: Allah humma salli ala muhammadin abdika wa nabiyyika wa rasulikan nabiyyil ummi”
(The above Hadith is considered as “Hasan” by Abu Abdillah Al-Nu’man- Al-Qawl al-Badee’, pg 382, Al Muassah al-Rayyan / Takhreej Al-Ihya with Ihya, vol 1, pg 247, Dar Al-Hadith)
وحسنه العراقي ومن قبله ابو عبد الله بن النعمان ( القول البديع)
(من صلى على يوم الجمعة ثمانين مرة غفر الله له ذنوب ثمانين سنة……) أخرجه الدار قطني من رواية ابن المسيب قال: أظنه عن أبى هريرة وقال: حديث غريب وقال ابن النعمان: حديث حسن (تخريج العراقي على الإحياء)
