I was at work as a cashier while in wudu but I touched a woman’s hand when returning change. Did i break my wudu?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

I was in a state of wudu while at work. I worked tha cashier and upon returning a customer change, I accidently touched her hand. It can be very tedious to do wudu here. Does accidently touching her hand break my wudu? Can you also please respond this at my email also as soon as possible? JazakAllah.

Answer

The Wudhu does not break by touching the hands of a female.

According to the Shaaf’ee Madhab, the Wudhu will break if one touches a strange females (Ghayr Mahram) bare hands regardless of whether it is with lust and desire or not. (Al-Majmoo’ Vol.2 Pg.30)
