I would like to know if i can remove ( waxing) the stated body hair….

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

1. I am a young 21 year old male, i have excessive body hair ( on legs, & back & chest) i would like to know if i can remove ( waxing) the stated  body hair. *Especially as it causes shame at swimming lessons ( halal-islamic brothers organised). *Also a brother stated that removal by waxing thins the hair and eventually causes decrease in the unwanted hair.*also when doing ghusl especially fardh it takes extra care (especially on jamaat, where there sometime is time restraint) and this causes one to rush and then doubts attack the mind.

* Will it be allowed if it helped with body hygiene- and cutting down on shower/bath time and water/soap usage

2.   If permissible, would it be permissible if it was done by another male for this is a awkard process especially on back etc

3.  If a male is married and feels the  excessive body hair would discourage/ make wife feel uncomftable would it then be allowed.  ?

Please answer with detail for this is probleming my mind and do not want to do this if it is haraam, and also other brothers i know are facing same problem.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

1 & 3 It is undesirable for men to remove hair on the chest, back and legs. However if a need exists, it would be permissible to remove it. The use of wax is also permissible.

وفي حلق شعر الصدر والظهر ترك الأدب كذا في القنية

ولو عالج بالنورة في العانة يجوز كذا في الغرائب

2. It is permissible to have the hair removed by another male.

في جامع الجوامع حلق عانته بيده وحلق الحجام جائز إن غض بصره كذا في التتارخانية .
