What does the Sharia say about a man keeping his head covered for health reasons in Hajj in ihraam?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

My father would like to go for hajj, but he can’t keep his head uncovered in the cold, eg in Muzdalfa – he has very bad asthma, and will become ill very quickly. People say in men’s ihraam, a man’s head must stay uncovered. What does the Sharia say about covering a man’s head, with a hat for example, while in ihraam due to health reasons, particularly in Muzdalfa

Answer

If he keep his head covered for full 24 hours or more, then he will have to give damm, and if for less than that then sadaqah.(Muallimul Hujjaaj Pg.237)
