Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principle it is a major sin to cheat and lie in ones exam.[1] Rasulullah (Sallalahu Alayhi Wasalam) states:

Translation: “Whoever deceives, is not from amongst us” (Tirmidhi Hadith 1315)

While, you will be sinful for cheating in the exam, the income of the job will be Halal since you offering a valid service and are receiving payment in return for that service.[2] However, you should make Tawbah and Istighfaar for the sinful act committed.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
