Technique to strengthen Dhor

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Asalamu alykum

A person has memorised around 13 juzz of the quran. But is struggling to maintain it. Can you please give a technique on how to strengthen the quran which has already been memorised.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Hereunder is an easy prescription which was given by Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel Saheb (Rahimahullah) to Huffaaz who found it to be a very simple way for remember their Dhor:[1]

1.     Before Fajr, read three Rukus of Quran Shareef. After Fajr, read the same 3 Rukus. It will take about five minutes.

2.     Before and after Zuhr do the same three Rukus only. Then before and after Asr, Maghrib and Esha respectively, the same three Rukus.

3.     In a day, you have done the same three Rukus approximately ten times, allowing for some days when you cannot manage before or after.

4.     Take the following three Rukus the following day and repeat as above. In six days (average), you will complete a para. On Sunday, make Dhor of that para, reading a few Rukus each Salaah time.

5.     In a month you will do approximately four paras, and in seven months revision of the complete Quran Shareef without much effort.

In the enquired scenario, you may follow the above technique to stenghten the thirteen paras you have memorised.

Continue like this for the rest of life, Insha-Allah.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
