Correcting mistake outside of ṣalāh

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

can you correct a person’s recitation even if you are not in salah? And could you site your sources please جزاك الله خيرا

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh

In principle, a person who is out of alāh cannot correct the one in alāh. Therefore, if the musallī’ (the one performing alāh) erred in recitation and  is corrected by someone outside of alah, the alāh of the musallī will become invalid if he accepts the correction.[1]
