Is it permissible to read Dalaail-ul-Khairaat of Imam al-Juzuli?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

As salamu aliykum dear Shikh. I want to ask question about reading the book dalail al khairat of imam al Jazuli rahmatullahi aleihi. Is it permissible to read this book without any ijaza from Shaikh, or you need to take a permission?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Dalaail-ul-Khairaat is a compilation of Durood by the 9th century (hijri) Moroccan sufi Muhammad Sulaiman al-Juzuli ash-Shadhili. The purpose of ijaazat was to ensure one has the correct wordings of each Durood. Nowadays the booklet is available in clear print. There is no need for ijaazat to read Dalaail-ul-Khairaat. It is important to note that, although there are many authentically proven virtues of Durood, some of the virtues mentioned in the foreword of this booklet are fabricated. For this reason, we advise you use the booklet for reciting Durood only.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
