Can I eat at a pizza shop that also serves haram meat?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Salamualaikum,

In Canada we have some pizza stores such as Dominos pizza and pizza pizza. Most of theses stores sell meat products which are not halal such as pork pepperoni etc… When the workers touch the haram meat (for non muslim people) they put their hands in the veggies or the halal food products. As a cosequence the halal toppings get comtaminated with the haram meat products.

My question is, is it halal to eat from these stores or should we avoid them because of this contamination.

Jazakallahkhair

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principle, if halal is contaminated with haram, the halal will become haram. If the pizza stores in question sell haram meat, and there is contamination with halal products, then it is not permissible to buy pizzas from these restaurants.
