Disposing of interest money to poor Muslims

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

As Salaamu Alaikum wrwbwa rahmatullahi wa barkat mufti sahab,

May Allah(swt) reward you with the best of both the world for this Noble act of yours. I have a question regarding interest money.

Is it allowed to give away the interest money accumulated in the bank account to Muslim brothers/sistes without the intention of thawab?

Appreciate your time and response

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Aameen to your duas.

It is permissible to dispose of interest money to poor and needy Muslims without the intention of reward. [1]
