Hurmah Musaaharah query

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

I saw a video about hurmate musahara on youtube by a mufti and that made me extremely fearful about such a thing that even my wife would become haram for me. I started taking extreme care with my 9 years old daughter, like avoiding to take or give anything to her in order to avoid touching her. I have no desire for her, even this whole idea is extremely disgusting for me.

One day, i was somewhere with my family. I and my wife talked with each other something that others cant understand and i was feeling erection after that. After that my daughter touched me asking me to buy her something. At that moment, out of fear, i had further erection. I had no desire for my daughter at the moment at all and even after that. I told my wife to tell her to stay away from me as she is grown up now. My daughter is adult as she is having menstraution.

My first question is that what about the validity of my marriage?. I felt erection but without any desire for my daughter.

Secondly, after fearing and thinking of hurmate musahara so much, i feel that i am at huge risk, because when one is living with his family, anything can happen anytime?. What should  do… Alhamdolillah i offer five prayers and try to follow shariat as much as i can…I am very worried.

Answer

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

Brother in Islaam,

Your nikaah is intact. Ignore all such thoughts and do no entertain them. They are from Shaitaan. If any such thought cross your mind, recite the following:

أعوذُ باِللهِ مِنَ الشَّيطَانِ الرَّجِيم[1]

Translation: I seek refuge in Allaah from the rejected devil.

لاحول ولا قوة إلا بالله

Translation: There is no power and no might except with Allaah.

You state that the whole idea is extremely disgusting for you. That is the natural disposition. Hence, you should not have any fear of being around your family. Go about as you would normally and ignore all unwanted thoughts.

And Allaah Ta’aala Knows Best.
