Assalaam Aleykum
I understand that homosexuality is absolutely haram. My question is that if a man only has the inclination towards men but he does not do the action of liwaat, and he tries his best to get rid of that inclination, will he be held accountable for that?
Will he be sinful?
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Allah will never take a person to task for that which is out of his control.[1] If a male has an inclination towards men, then that is beyond his control. However, he is in control of how he reacts to the situation he finds himself in and will definitely be answerable in this regard.[2]
If he contained his carnal desires and abstained from homosexuality, then surely Allah will reward him greatly for his sacrifices.[3]
But if (Allah forbid) he gave in to his evil desires, then indeed a severe punishment lies ahead for him.[4]
And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
