Dream Interpretation

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

I had this dream before Fajr.
I don’t remember very clearly but I will try and explain in detail to the best of my ability. I was living in house with my family. This house was not very near other houses. There were lots of trees around my house and my house was very dark. I constantly felt scared and insecure. I felt like was being troubled by jinn or something evil. There was one door in the house that was never opened and always stayed locked. I opened that door and there was a very dark room all I could see was a frame with a picture of a pious man dressed religiously. I came out of that room. I was walking in a field and it was sunny.  I saw a woman who looked just like the pious man in the frame and said something to the effect of “it’s you!” She smiled sweetly and suddenly I went into a kind of trance everything was white around me and I saw a paper or a script, it isn’t clear to me. remember reading,”Nabee(SAW) has sent my husband to protect. I am her to guard/guide you.” Something to the effect of that. After that I stayed around her all the time because I felt safe and protected when I was with her. It felt as if the jinn or whatever evil that used to trouble me could not get to me when I was with her and as soon as I left her they would trouble me again. Outside the house I lived in, it was dirty. There was rubble and dead trees and leaves. She cleared the area and ploughed the area. This piece of my dream was not clear but I remember arguing with my mother saying “ummi put the house on this side there’s sun here.  The house won’t be  dark.” But she insisted of putting the house under the trees in the shade.
I awakened from this dream very scared and in tears. I have a constant insecure feeling. It is such that I feel something is going happen to me or have an impact on me.

My 13 year old daughter had this dream

Kindly give an interpretation

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Explain to your daughter that the example of a dream is like a man travelling on a highway. The traveller will come across many different types of sceneries, some lush and beautiful, whilst other may be not so eye-catching and appealing. Nonetheless, the traveller must not lose his concentration throughout his travel and he should not stop to pay a lot of attention to what is around him.

Thus, our focus should not stray towards the transitory world of dreams. We should focus on real life issues. Recounting every dream and pondering on its meanings is futile. Dreams alone cannot change a person’s life.

Advise her to think of Allah. Every good and bad decree is from Allah. She should recite Ayatul Kursi and the Four Quls and she will be protected by Allah.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
