Should I make qadha of those salaah which I read after using a hair brush made from boar wool?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

I had a hair brush from boar wool. I know that it is impure in Hanafi mazhab but in Maliki is pure. I used it nearly for four years, on wet hairs too. Should I have to do Qadha of my past Salaahs? Or there is a chance that can we use a opinion from Maliki mazhab to my past Salaahs? Can we use physical properties of the thing that after using a long time of any material by water, it loses ability to secrete any subtance and can it became pure because material become inert and doen’t secrete anything.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.

As-salaamu `alaykum wa-ramatullahi wa-barakatuh.

There are two issues regarding hair brush from boar wool.

One is the use of it and the other is the effect of its use.

The use of hair brush made from boar wool is not permissible as it is impure. However, the use of boar wool hair brush does not make one impure. Accordingly, you do not have to make qadhaa of your past salaats.[1]
