My husband and I have been fighting for the last few months. He has threatened to leave me a few times in the past and recently he threatened to give me talaq if I don’t listen to him. So I told him I won’t be living my life under his threats. He got angry and said “I give you talaq” three times and then he asked me what I had to say about it. I said nothing, and then he repeated it another 3 times, a total of 6 times within 5 minutes.
After this happened I left and during the time I was away he moved out of our home. This was 3 weeks ago.
Since then he has been trying to apologize and tell me he made a mistake by saying talaq to me 6x. He wants to take me back. He said “I take you back” 6 times as well.
He has been in touch with local masjids and we are receiving mixed responses from the local imams.
Some people are saying his saying talaq 6 times counts as one occurance. And others are saying that the talaq is final because he said 3 times.
We are both Sunni and family believes the hanafi school of thought and they are telling me I am divorced from him now and he cannot take me back. He is insisting he can take me back within 90 days.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
The three Talaaqs issued by your husband constitute Talaaq-e-Mugallazah (a permanently irrevocable divorce).[i]
This form of divorce demands immediate separation between the spouses. Reconciliation can only take place after halalah. Halalah is the process where the wife passes her iddah (waiting period) and marries another man[ii] and consummate the marriage. If the second husband divorces her or passes away, she should observe the iddah of this second marriage. Thereafter, she would be at liberty to return to her first husband.
