Assalam ‘alaikum,

On the 1st of January, 2017, Mufti Ebrahim Desai saheb posted the following Fatwa#: 37487:

Since then, we have received mixed news of Maulana Sa’ad saheb retracting his comments and clarifying his position. Could you please give us a current update on this situation? Have the Ulema of Deoband and South Africa received any clarification in this matter from Maulana Sa’ad?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Unfortunately, we have not received any statement regarding Moulana Sa’ad Saheb retracting his comments and clarifying his position.
