Urge of Urine Drops in Hajj / Umrah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Salaam

I have an issue of urine Drops where occasionally I feel an urge of drops coming out. Sometime when I check, there are drops and other times there aren’t any drops. So from a while ago, I take a small piece of tissue and insert it into my private part when urine comes out from to prevent my clothes from getting dirty. If I ever feel the urge, I will go to the toilet and change the tissue and redo Wudhu.

Is this acceptable during Hajj? Also not always do the urges release urine drops. So is this something I need to worry about? The urges are not very frequent and may not occur at all some days. Would I need to repeat Wudhu if I feel something during Tawaf but am not sure if any drops came out?

I was told I would need to do a Wudhu for each prayer time and it wouldn’t matter if any drops come out during this period. But in Haram it is very difficult to do a Wudhu for every prayer time especially when a lot of the time it is doubt in my head

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

May Almighty Allah grant you a Hajj Mabroor. Aameen

You are not Ma’zur.[i]

Many people experience similar feelings like you.

When Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam went for Me’raj, Jibraeel Alaih Salam advised Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam to advise the menfolk of his ummah to sprinkle water around the private part.[ii] Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam himself practiced on this.[iii]

If one practices on this and experience any feelings, he would attribute it to the wetness of the water.

If you are not certain that you discharged urine drops, then your wudhu will be intact. You should also avoid entertaining doubts and feelings. Regard your wudhu to be intact until you are 100% sure of a discharge.

Your wudhu will be broken only if you are certain that you discharged urine.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best

[i]  Ma’zur (Excused): If a person’s urine continuously flows for a complete salaah time, not leaving enough time to perform wudhu and fard salaah then he will be regarded as a Ma’zur. A Ma’zur performs wudhu for every salaah time. His wudhu will remain intact for the complete salaah time. The expiry of the salaah time and any other impurity besides the urine drops will break his wudhu. (Fatawa Mahmudiyyah: 8/238-246, Maktabah Mahmudiyyah)
