Clarification on the laws of a mazur and making wudhu with a spray bottle

Please explain the ruling for a Mazoor in the following instance:

  1. If a Mazoor performs Wudhu before the time of Zawaal sets in, is this Wuduh valid for Zuhr salaah?
  2. When performing Umrah and Ziyarah to the Holy cities of Makkah Al Mukaramah and Madinah Al Munuwarah, would it be permissible for a Mazoor to perform the Fard of Wuduh while in the boundaries of the Harams using a spray bottle, or would one have to go to the Wuduh area and perform Wuduh?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

1.      In principle, the wudhoo of a ma’zoor breaks with the exiting of a fardh salaah time.[1] The time of fajr exits at sunrise. If one makes wudhu before zawaal, there is no fardh salaah time exiting at that time. Zuhr salaah time only goes out when asr salaah time comes in. Hence your wudhu made before zawaal will suffice for zuhr salaah.[2]

2.      It is a requirement for water to drip off the body part whilst making wudhu.[3] This cannot be easily achieved using a spray bottle. Therefore, it is incorrect to make wudhu using a spray bottle.

وثمرة الخلاف تظهر في مسألتين: إذا توضأ للصبح ثم طلعت الشمس، وإذا توضأ بعد طلوع الشمس للعيد أو للضحى ثم دخل وقت الظهر، فعندهما ينتقض في الأولى للخروج، ولا ينتقض في الثانية لعدمه
