Answer

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

Brother in Islaam,

Before engaging in intimacy with your wife, you should recite the following du’aa:

Translation: “(I commence) in the name of Allaah. O Allaah! Keep Shaitaan away from us and from what you bestow upon us (i.e. children).” (Bukhaari 6388)

You may recite the following du’aas beseeching Allaah Ta’aala for children,

Translation: “O my Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication.” (Surah Aali ‘Imraan v.38)

Translation: “O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (child)!” (Surah As-Saaffaat v.100)

Translation: “O our Lord! Bestow upon us from our wives and our offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the pious.” (Surah Al-Furqaan v.74)

Also, make intention of attaining chastity through the intimacy and to abstain from all forms of zinaa which includes zinaa of the eyes and thoughts as well.

And Allaah Ta’aala Knows Best.
