Fateha group

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

As-Salam-Alaikum

I like to know who are these people so called, Fateha & Non-Fateha group, Could you please throw some light on this from their Aqeedah perspective.

Answer

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

We are not aware of any sect called “Fateha group” or “Non-Fateha group”. Perhaps you refer to reciting Surah Al-Faatihah at the conclusion of du’aa; the Imaam calls out “Al-Faatihah” at the end of a congregational du’aa and everyone follows it with a recital of Surah Al-Faatihah.

This practice is not established from Rasulullaah (Sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam) or the pious predecessors. However, if it is done occasionally with the intention of du’aa, then we do not see any harm in it.

And Allaah Ta’aala Knows Best.
