Is it permissible to recite Dua-ul-Istiftah behind the Imam. Does one needs to recite this Dua in the first rakat he missed.

Answer

If a person missed any number of Rajaats, when he stands up to fulfil the
missed Rakaats, he should recite Du’aa-al-Istiftah (Thanaa).
