It’s not safe to leave women alone when they are in active labour. I can get another midwife to look after her but in staff shortage it’s hard to do my salah. Can I do Qadha Salah for this reason?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

I am a student midwife in England (UK) and due to litagation and people taking midwifes to court and also saftey of mother and baby it is not in good safe practice to leave women alone in active labour. If I can get the oportunity to go and do salaah by getting another midwife to come in then its okay. but some times we have to look after 2-3 labouring women at the same time due to shortage of staff. In that case I may not be able to go to do salah.

Answer

Due to the circumstances explained by you, you will be excused for making your Salaah qadha.
