Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Jazaki-Allah Khairan for writing and mentioning the issue you are facing with your husband.

We make dua that Allah resolve this issue and clear up the misunderstanding between you two.

Alhamdulilah, you have mentioned that your husband is loving and caring, however, he thinks that your parents disrespected him because you told them to do so.

First of all, continue to make dua that Allah remove any misunderstanding that he has. Do not give up or despair from making dua.

Secondly, you have mentioned that you have talked to your husband many times in an effort to clarify this misunderstanding but it has not changed anything. If you haven’t already, consider asking your parents to clear up this misunderstanding by telling your husband that they mean no disrespect and that they love and honor their son-in-law.

If you have also tried that, see which elders in his family or your family your husband respects and consider asking them to help resolve and clarify the issue.

Finally, if the above steps do not work we would advise you to seek the assistance of a local scholar who is experienced in marital counseling to help you resolve this issue.
